ELLAND ROAD

 TUESDAY - Our friends funeral it wa sin th morning and it was another sunny day like the last funeral we went to a few weeks ago.This on was at Cottingley crematorium the service was at 10.45 we made it five minutes before the hearse arrived .

After we went to Elland Road football ground of Leeds United for a get together and buffet and bar  the food was excellent and appreciated we did not realise this was part of the funeral until after the sermon .The Eddie Grey suite also had a large tv with a film slide showing our friends Rose live .We was allowed in to the directors box which gave us access on to the terraces. It was  Helens first time seeing the pitch the last time I was there Billy Bremner was the captain .

KING WHO

 SATURDAY - I have no thoughts on the coronation of our new King I don't like the idea of Charles being the King of England I don't think he is worthy I am not putting any flags out or buying any commemorative plates or cups or magazines or books to do with the new King I don't care hopefully its not long live the King well at least  not this one .

Ed's new album is another smash obviously its going to get to number one in the charts no doubt in the U.s.a as well another £25 million plus going into Ed's bank account rightly so he has done so much for our country and charities than Charles will ever do , Ed for King .

Helen as a bad case of diarrhoea she was in bed all day so I spent the day looking after her and watching You Tube .

EXTRA STEPS

 THURSDAY - So we have been awarded 5% pay rise plus around £1600 for the previous year we should get this in June there are three bank holidays in May the tax man is rubbing his hands already .

Only did a short walk with the dogs the weather was grey and cold and threading rain also Rosie did not wake me until half past eight which meant it delayed the start of the walk which also meant that there where dogs on the field where I let them of the lead to have a ten. minute run chasing each other maybe that's why they seem a bit more hyper this morning .

Bought some paint for the living room the main wall is getting painted in a total different colour I think this will be the fourth time I have painted it in the last couple of years .We are also going to paint the kitchen walls and do some of the skirting boards .

FRIDAY - Raining so once again only went on a short walk once round the field and back home the dogs did get let of their leads and managed to have a short run round before we headed back home .

Last shift for my first week back at work its been a very busy week I have doubled my steps almost every day and set a new personal best for steps in a day and week its surprising how much waling I do at work specially as I go cross site .

Cooked chicken thighs and chorizo slices with chunky chips and spicy mayo dressing with grated cheese so its just as well I am doing extra steps .

BEST EVER

 MONDAY MAY BANK HOLIDAY - Back at work first shift back after weeks off not sure how I feel .

Went to see my son he has very little because he is not working I guess I should be grateful I have a job .

WEDNESDAY - I have walked over fifteen miles since Monday with the dogs on a morning then the rest 

at work .Yesterday I did 21,463 a personal best and was 7.8 miles .

ONE QUARTER GONE

 SATURDAY - Went on another hike with the dogs somedays I am  doing five miles I need a decent water bottle and a small back pack once the weather gets warmer I need one for carrying my walking hiking Edc .Such as cold drink , ear pods , knife water dish and water for the dogs and maybe my drone .Have been eating a lot of fresh strawberries and kiwi fruit I haven't had kiwi fruit for years I use to take it to work for morning break with my pasta tuna and pasta .

Went to the supermarket bought some apple pie and cream and some basmati rice I was going to buy some cider but I resisted temptation also bought some fresh water prawns and salad for Helens tea .

SUNDAY - Went on another hike with the dogs found out a different route to take it was very enjoyable it gives you time to think, at seven o clock in the morning there are more sheep about than people .

Went over to Acaster Malbis to see Helens parents we took them to the garden centre at Poppleton a fifth teen minute drive away they needed plants for the front garden and borders .

APRIL RE-CAP.

Three people I knew well and had worked with had passed away .

Went to a funeral first one in years a sad event .

Did not work the whole of April .

Started playing Tomb Raider again "Legend" on X-box one .

Baked a Apple and a strawberry pie .

The temperature got into double figures .

Rosie went off lead for the first time ever no issues .

Eating kiwi fruit again first time in years with strawberries and Greek yogurt .

WASTEING ELECTRIC

WEDNESDAY - If you have ever watched the film 'Kes" there is a scene where he takes the lead of his kestrel and lets it fly free for the first time and the bird returns to him .Well I did the same with Rosie she has never been off the lead well I decided to let her run round an enclosed field she loved it she is fast and turns at high speed it was a joy to watch .She returned no fuss no messing straight away and didn't try to run off when I went to reattach her lead result .

 THURSDAY - Went to the Barracuda fish shop we bought fish and chips to eat in the car I had a curry sauce with mine and we both had a long bread cake and scraps  I also had a can of Dr Pepper , Living it up  without a doubt .The car windows steamed up we was parked up on a lay by hopefully it didn't look like that we was dogging.

I am going back to work on Monday its a bank holiday but I have decided I should be good to return to work after the weekend if I don't have any set backs I am good to go .

FRIDAY - Went to visit my son he had no food , I  cant imagine having a fridge or cupboards with nothing in them in all my life I have never been without food we might have food in the fridge or freezer that I don't fancy but there is always some  food to eat we have enough food to last a couple of weeks needless to say we took him some food over along with milk coffee and sugar .A fridge with no food is just a waste of electricity .

STEPS

 TUESDAY - Went to Uppemill parka dup at Dobcross and walked down the canal to the village .The sun was out it was a steady walk we used the stepping stones to cross the river . to get to the bakery for sausage rolls and chocolate brownies .Helen got her favourite egg mayo sandwhichs in granery 

WEDNESDAY - Took Helen for her hard colouring and cutting I walked along the canal bank to get my steps in for the day so far doing good averaging 11,000+ steps a day best being 15,028 worse one 4788 .Once I get back to work my rate will go up quite significantly .

LEGEND

 FRIDAY - Gloomy day raining most of the day .Helen did a reading for a t.v reality celebrity it went ok hopefully her name will get passed around and she will get more celeb readings to do who knows money talks .

Bought some strawberries and kiwi fruit and greek yogurt its been ages since I have had kiwi I use to eat it all the time when I was working on site with my tuna and pasta mayo with loads of black pepper .

My little dog Rosie is a crazy lady I love her to bits even though she wakes me up every morning I forgive her .I cant ever get mad at her she is just too cute and she cant do any wrong .She constantly steals socks from anywhere she can get them , she will then carry them about in her mouth like its a prized possession as a result I need more socks as this is a daily event .

WEEKEND - Uneventful did nothing major we both chilled out and cooked food .

MONDAY - This might be my last week on sickness I need to go back , I don't really want to but like the majority need the cash.

TUESDAY - Bought from Microsoft X-box Tomb raider "Legend' it was only £2.29 I think I  have played it before years ago I am not sure on the first level I am not recognizing any of the scenery or story line be a bonus if I have not played it before .

ANOTHER ONE GONE

 MONDAY - Boring took thew dogs out did nothing much got an appointment at work on Thursday regarding my sickness absence I am still waiting for results from my Msi scan I had on the 1st of April .

THURSDAY -  A lady I use to work with years ago on the children's ward at the hospital when I worked there on the weekends  has sadly passed away. She was a wonderful lady and was well liked I have not seen her for a few years .We did visit her a few times at her home and she visited us . Hopefully she is reunited with her husband who died a few years sad news .

She helped me and Helen get together she got me Helen's phone number one Saturday when she went on break she came back with it on a piece of paper. I started texting Helen the same day and we started seeing each other out of work the the following Monday the  rest a they say is history , so a big thank you Rose .Thats three of my friends who have sadly passed away in a matter of weeks .

Went to work had meeting it went fine  , I explained I want to come back to work but not until I have my results in I checked online still no results posted .The weather in Leeds was hot it was 17.5 degrees .

CHEAP COKE

 SATURDAY - Joined William Hills online betting so we could bet on the Grand National horse race I deposited £10 and Helen picked five horses and riders we did five each way bet ended up winning £17 nearly 75% return better than losing money .

I found out today an old friend I grew up with has passed away we use to play football together he went to law school and became very successful he went to my mothers funeral another one bites the dust it does make you wonder about your own mortality life every day as if it was your last because obviously one it will come to pass I life and I am doing my best olive it but keep thinking I have done nothing major ,I have not travelled enough by far I should have done more in my teens and early twenties but then I guess I have done more than others I am grateful for the things I have done .

SUNDAY - Slow cooked a pork shoulder in the oven ha dit with swede , carrot ,mash and Yorkshire pudding it was extra nice I had a canoe cloudy cider I have not had any for awhile not sure what , been buying cheap coke from Aldi .

DID IT MUM

 THURSDAY - I am thinking of going back at work a week next Monday my legs and back and other issues are not 100% so  I haven't told work yet and to be honest I am not that bothered about going back the only part of the job I miss is the people i work with obviously some more than others. .The week has been cold and wet hardly any sun hopefully we don't have too long to wait for hotter weather but has this is United Kingdom summer is not forced to happen.

I checked online to see if the results of my MRI scan had been forwarded they hadn't its nearly been two weeks .

I went to Asda my blue light card is still giving me 10% discount at the checkout I think this is a good deal and it does make a difference on regular cost of shopping plus I have £21 on my Asda Rewards card .

I have been watching a You Tube channel of a family man who live sin a normal house works a job Monday to Friday but on a weekend or days of goes off in his van.His van build is not elaborate and it was not a lot to fit it out around £700 .It as no windows , no solar panels no roof vent it is fully insulated a bed and a place to cook and make coffee and a Eco Flow battery bank and it suits his needs he I snot living in it full time so its perfect and a set up like his would suit me .He lives in Cornwall so a lot of the places he visits are not that far from his home and a lot are on the coast .Maybe one day it will happen the main cost is the van .

FRIDAY - Looks like I am back to work Monday I am not 100% but I might never be 100% get to hope for more good days than bad .

To cheer myself up I bought two punnets of strawberry to make a strawberry fruit pie my first attempt my Mother use to make them and they where the best fruit pies my favourite not her apple pies weren't great they were I just preferred strawberry pie anyway I did it and to be honest it was very good I know I will be making more specially as the weather hopefully gets brighter and hotter sitting in the garden eating pie will be a good summer .My mum would be happy I am following in her foot steps I just know she would.

LIFE IS A SLICE OF PIE

 SUNDAY - All the supermarkets are shut its Easter Sunday the resurrection of Jesus Christ .

Did nothing much walked the dogs was going to take fly the drone but it was very misty and windy need a warm windless day patience is a virtue . Once I get confidence flying and manoeuvring the drone I will get a better model .A DJI Mini 2 would be nice the 3 is a bit expensive the two is just over £300.

Cooked shepherds pie with carrot , swede and peas I also cooked two giant Yorkshire puddings and freshly made mash mixed in with butter and milk .

MONDAY BANK HOLIDAY - Raining not very nice went to Fox Valley outlet bought some food items nothing major some cooked meats and various frozen pasties .

TUESDAY - Made my first ever apple pie just like my mum use to bake I had guidance from Helen it turned out fine it was just about perfect beginners luck had it with custard . I really want to make a strawberry pie just like my mum use to bake they where the best my favourite ever fruit pie it has been years since I have had a slice and I doubt if it will be as good as my mums not sure even how she made it  but if I don't try I will never know . Hot strawberry pie and cold fresh pouring cream 

CRASH NO BURN

 FRIDAY - took the small fence down that divided the garden the dogs can get over it quite easy so I removed it .It was just wooden posts into the ground with four by one planks screwed to the uprights with a gate in the centre of it .Helen planted a buh and a apple tree I broke her shovel ages ago and never replaced it was the second one I broke in the last few years so I ordered her a all metal shovel from Amazon hopefully ti being all metal it will last a few years should bend rather than break I guess .

SATURDAY - Got the drone out charged the batteries took it in the back garden but I calibrated it inside the house so when I pressed the return button it couldn't land because of the house and roof I ended up crash landing which slightly damaged one propeller , at least it didn't crash and burn . I need to go than open field plenty of space no risk of crashing into roof tops or damaging anyones property .

SMALL CHANGES

 TUESDAY - Helen bought a pine Wal unit from market place w had to drive a few miles to Honley to pick it up it was in good condition they originally listed dit for £50 we got it for £30 the drawers a slightly out of line but it looks ok.

It took around twenty minutes to fix it to the wall using four screws it already had mirror plates both top and bottom it makes the kitchen look a little bit more farm house than Ikea .I jacked the unit up to the right level so I wasn't lifting I checked the levels I marked the position of the mirror plates drilled and fixed it to the wall .Small changes can make a big difference .

When you attend a funeral or burial it makes you wonder when is your number up how long do you have left and how you are going to die and what happens when you die , I have ready you are aware that you have died because your brain does not die straight away unless I guess you have a major head trauma .

A GRAVE DAY

 MONDAY  - Drove over to Leeds had a funeral burial to attend from one of th night workers Crisanto he had died a few weeks before from a stroke.heart attack he was a year younger than me . It wasn't his time to go days before he was planing a holiday to Jerusalem a few days later his wife was planning his funeral it was not his time .Quite a few people turned up from work which was nice I spoke with his wife she seemed to be bearing up as good as could be expected no doubt she was hurting inside .I paid my last respects it was a open coffin he had his finest clothes on for his final trip . He was given a good send off and we went to the cemetery from the chapel of rest a few miles away to see his last resting place the sun was shining it was a lovely day bye Cris hope you are at peace and  in a better place R.I.P AND GOOD NIGHT .

After the service we drove over to my daughters house for a coffee  we stayed a good half hour from there we went to a fish restaurant for fish and chips ,I got a large cod with chips and baked beans Helen fish and salad , it was ok was not the best ever we would have been better going to our local inn.

When we got home the sun was still out it was cooler but ok for walking we took the dogs to Winscar reservoir the water was up at its normal level,  no surprising after the snow and rain we have had .

WATER

 FRIDAY - I have a couple of cult films to watch "Natural Born Killers " and "Wild At Heart" that's after I finish watching the new film"Johnny and Clyde ". One of my favourite films ever is "True Romance ".

SATURDAY - Went to Ikea again bought some curtains and cushion covers a boring day didn't do much .

SUNDAY - Went over to Helens parents at Acaster Malbis whilst she was taking up the curtains using her mothers sewing machine I walked the dogs to a small lake before going to Acaster Malbis Marina it was a nice walk we was out for a couple of hours .

NEW TECH

 TUESDAY - Doctor as issued me with a sick note for two months I hopefully won't need to be off for that long I want to go for my MRI scan and see the results before I make any decision on my return to work.

Went over to Sheffield to Ikea bought some furnishings for the home had some meatballs and sauce .

 WEDNESDAY - Drove Helen over to Meltham she had a couple of readings to do mid afternoon , she also had readings to do before and after her trip over to Meltham .

THURSDAY - Boring wet dull grey day went to Wentworth bought some apples to make an apple pie did a spaghetti bolognese for tea did not have any hard cheese oops grated some normal cheese togo on top did home made garlic bread did it with pappardelle wide pasta strips .

FRIDAY - Bought Titan Fall 2 for my X-box one might get it Monday . Just seem the Mac Nano which is basically a key board with a computer built in you just need to mirror it to a monitor or t.v you can also use a iPhone as a track bad not sure what the price is but doubt it will be cheap . HAD OUR CHIPS

 SUNDAY - Went over to visit Helens son Ste he lives in a high rise in Leeds but is doing ok for himself he is getting organised and doing his best to get the flat carpeted and painted throughout he has a new companion a dog called George who looks permanently sad .He is also very heavy for his size its quite deceiving .

After leaving we drove back home went shopping at Asda bought a long sleeved black shirt and a new pair of black jeans for the burial I have to go to for a work colleague Crisanto . Bought a joint of  beef brisket for Sunday lunch with swede and carrots and potatoes . I also bought two 40 packet boxes of both dog and cat food and dog biscuits .

The chip pan deep oil fryer arrived it looks ok and and hopefully will make great tasting chips we had an electric one too much hassle cleaning it this should be a lot easier .

MONDAY - It was trying its best to snow this morning it didnt lay but for a few minutes there was white stuff falling .

Cooked chips for tea next time I think I will make them chunkier they was a bit dark but they all got eaten .

Helen has readings until ten tonight catch up on some t.v and You Tube .

LOST AN HOUR

SATURDAY - Went to the local Pub for our tea we  both had our usual order of beer battered fish and triple cooked chips we had to move tables once that we were seated because it had been reserved because of this they knocked the price of the drinks off our bill which suited me , it was for the inconvenience of getting uprooted we had not even place dour order we just had our drinks on the table .They was way too much food , I did my best I did leave some of the thick cut chips .

Latest purchases on Amazon  I bought a 4" inch chef knife its very sharp , I also bought a black leather seats for it so I can store  it safely.Also my X-Box one game came after playing it for a hour  I don't think I am going to get into it will try some more  I get bored too easy . I ordered some laminate A4 sheets for Helen and a new ceramic fryer with a basket and glass lid .I also bought a 16gb usb drive I load it with films to watch on the t.v.I also ordered a heavy duty stapler and staples .

Finished watching " The Last Of Us " roll on series two started watching "The Mandarlorian" watched four episodes so far pretty good .

SUNDAY - Clocks move forward by one hour just to throw your body clock out of sync .

HOUSE PAINTING

 TUESDAY - Went to the hospital for my x-ray appointment for some reason I read the time wrong it thought I had to be there for 08.30 in fact it was 11.30 I was three hours early .I went back home and had a sausage and bacon sandwich and another coffee. Got back on time I was in and out within thirty minutes and will get the results within the next week to ten days.

I have a burial to attend on the 3rd of April its been awhile since I last attended a funeral specially with someone I have known for the las thirteen or so years .

WEDNESDAY - Went to the garden centre to buy another two hares that's four that we have had everyone loves them as they look lovable and are not that expensive at £25 each .

Helen painted her dolls house all of the walls and the windows the roof left as they were I  waxed the the rocking chair  that we bought last week .

NO MORE SLEEPS

SUNDAY - Went over to Acaster Malbis after going to the garden centre and buying a hanging basket cone and and a planter already full of plants and flowers of course it is mothers day and we was going to see Helens mother .

We got home just after seven p.m I cooked  us some fish fingers nine to do three  sandwiches one and a half sandwiches each with salt vinegar and tomato sauce it was spot on.

.MONDAY - My X-box game arrive din the post "Metro Redux " hopefully I can get into it .

Went shopping bought two massive 30 day matured steaks for tea the dogs and cats will eat any that's left I also bought some French  fries and salad stuff do Helen and threw in some battered onion rings I also bought six more packets of coffee from Aldi the coffee they I sell is ok I like them both the Italian and French  and its only £1.69 a bag and to be fair I like it its a nice drink I have a dozen packets to get through no sleep forever  , I also bought more milk and sugar and another two Malteser Easter eggs £1.25 for the egg and a packet of Maltesers good value or what . 

NON EVENT

 THURSDAY - Was up at six a.m once again took the dogs out for their morning stroll .Cooked myself a small breakfast after i had made a cup of tea for Helen and a fresh coffee for me . Its raining gain and  its dull and grey , roll on summer .

Put some piano hinges on Helens dolls house nothing is ever straight forward got there in the end she is painting it so it be fine no small enough screws the door was thinner than the rest of the house so had to file the screws down once they had popped through the front .

FRIDAY - Was up just after ix again its getting to be earlier each day at least I am going to bed earlier which makes up for it .

Took the dogs out only return had two coffees before deciding what to cook for breakfast .Need to get some more chilli jam but the local farm shop has not stocked up on it , and currently have none to sell pissed off .

SATURDAY - Went to Northampton on a ghost hunt it use to be an asylum many years ago it is now a museum and a park we got down there just after five p.m and went to the Abington Pub for tea and to meet up with the others I had chicken masala rice nan bread and onion bhajis it was ok . The hunt was not that good  it was a none starter a bit boring a non event once you explored it seemed a bit pointless its not what we expected we was only sixty odd miles from London . We left early it was supposed to go on  until one a.m we left at around half past eleven for a two hour drive home .The dogs where glad to see us .

SPICED OUT

 WEDNESDAY - Went over to Slaithwaite to HD Seven Salon to get our hair done Sophies did Helens colour and cut and Will cut  mine thank you both .

Whilst I was waiting for Helen I nipped out and bought the spices and onions to make a curry for my tea thought I would try and do an authentic Indian chicken curry well as authentic as a Yorkshire man can do  but if I never try I will never know .Got some beef burgers as back up just incase .

Cooked the curry it went ok it was pretty good way off perfect but none went to waste need to work on the sauce make it more moist and creamy will have to have a second attempt also I could do with a hand blender I also added turmeric and onions not shown in the picture I had it with rice and nan bread .

I will check more online recipes for next time as they say practice makes perfect so they say 

READY TO ROCK

 SUNDAY - Went over to see and meet up with some friends in the afternoon we had afternoon tea with creamed scones with fresh cream and strawberries .They have a fantastic dog called Simba it is a Leonberger  and is bigger than me when it rears up on his hind legs to give you a hug but is totally friendly and has a great temperament  but I wouldn't want it sleeping on the bed , it would need one of his own .

MONDAY - Went over to Helens son apartment its in a big old house and he has one of the top two  apartments his is the biggest by far. It's only one bedroom with kitchen/dining room and living room all combined he lives there by himself it's way big enough . There is a separate  shower room all through out  its all new the fittings and fixtures decorating is just all been done before he moved in it looked well .

He bought us all a Chinese from the local takeaway I had duck curry with soft noodles the best yet the duck was very tender and the sauce quite hot all in all a very decent meal .

TUESDAY - Went over to Rotherham to pick up a wooden rocking chair it was advertised on Facebook market place £30 looked brand new and is made from solid pine  so we went on 50 minute drive to  check it out and to buy it if we liked it it was spot on we pair for it and put it in the car it went in easily enough and  drove back  home it is now in the corner of the room ready to rock .

HOUSES AND FIRES

 SATURDAY - The snow as been cleared off the road out of the estate its been piled up at the side of the roads of peoples drives and paths .I can see such huge mounds of snow taking forever to melt in to the drains .I manage to walk the dogs on the clear parts of the roads slipping only once we got to the field where we walk round but it was still too deep so we went back home .

Helen had seen a dolls house advertised locally and she wanted to go to see it .It was for sale in Honley a few miles away , the house looked pretty good one of the hinges had come off the bottom door on the left no major issue fixing that so we ended up buying it .She is going to re-decorate it and maybe put in some lights but to be honest putting battery operated tea lights inside would be as good .

The transcender for the fire came its what makes the fire put out steam that in the colour of the lighted back ground and the fake logs make for a realistic fire .it was a Chinese copy and it worked we have a realistic fire once again I wouldn't recommend anyone getting one its been a pain .

AMAZON HEROES

 FRIDAY - Got up to more snow I think this is the worst snow we have had since we have lived here .If I wasn't already on sick I be phoning up saying I am snowed in. No cars are leaving the streets as far as I can see.The snow is deeper than the height of my dogs so no walks today it's way too deep plus one is white I never would find him .

Guess its a lazy day of You Tube and reading and listening to some podcasts not much else to do be a miracle if Amazon deliveries get through or the post it is minus one degrees and the snow is still coming down but it is very fine .

AFTERNOON - The sun is out and its melting the snow if we don't get anymore it should go pretty quick over the next few days .

Did a roast chicken dinner for our tea with carrot and side mash , sprouts and roast potatoes , stuffing and home made Yorkshire puddings with a red wine gravy took a couple of hours .

Heard through a work friend a worker who cleans the operating theatres on a night as sadly had a heart attack/stroke and he is not likely to survive the next couple of days its very sad news he is quite a bit younger than me its upsetting I won't get to see him again I am on sick leave so I have not seen him the last few weeks but he will be remembered. 

Finally got my orders from Amazon toilet rolls we won't run out now and a industrial stapler so much easier than shopping thanks to the drivers that deliver our Amazon you are if not life savers at  least make our lives easier and better thanks for braving the snow you are all true heroes .

HARRIET

 WEDNESDAY - Helen bought a new ornament for the window Harriet the Hare we bought it from the local garden centre it was very reasonable price and is over 18" tall with jointed legs  .

 

I cooked a shepherds pie with carrot , swede and peas I also did chips and Yorkshire puddings we hadbit with bread and butter pudding there is some left over for tomorrow .

It started to  snow late afternoon and  during the night it was snowing when I woke up Thursday morning

cars are already struggling to get ut of the street if I wasn't off work I would be phoning in due to the condition of the roads around where I live doesn't  look like the gritters have been out .

THURSDAY - Snowed most of the day Helen went out with a tape measure 7" in places I ordered some toilet rolls of Amazon we are down to three rolls I cant get out of the street the farm shops don't sell toiletries food only .Will w make it they get delivered Saturday I had a Amazon delivery today it didn't get through the snow .

ITALIAN X 2

 MONDAY - Did a smoked ham carbonara with double cream and white wine fresh parsley and thyme I also used chestnut  mushrooms the wine was the cheapest Aldi sells I dint think I used enough I also did home made garlic bread cakes for afters I did bread and butter pudding just in case there was not enough stodginess and just in case there was not enough calories I had a cloudy apple cider .

Forgive the presentation does not effect the taste I think next time I will use less cream and more white wine .

I found out today I can have a MSI scan my hips are  titanium so its fine .

TUESDAY - Bought a new kettle we have been using a pan to boil the water I have been singly Sage .

Bought a pizza for tea we had half and half I had spicy cheese , beef and green jalapenos. 

HAPPY BDAY

 FRIDAY - Took the dogs out Bailey had his grooming session yesterday he looks top G .I played some Bob Dylan tracks whilst Bentley my cat followed us the whole of our walk  .

On getting home I cut up the potatoes , carrot and swede and throw them in to the slow cooker with the braising steak tea will be at least six hours in the making .

SATURDAY - Went food shopping bought a couple of chickens and a couple of packets of mince for a lasagne and shepherds pie as well as bacon and sausages I also bought more smoked haddock and a couple of packets of ground coffee for the Sage coffee machine  .

Have downloaded some Lee Child Jack reacher books I don't know if you need to listen to them in any particular order will have to see .Fancy also Tom Clancy Jack Ryan audio books to listen to .

SUNDAY - It is my grandsons 8th birthday Monday we got him a Manchester City dressing gown not sure why Man City .We went round in the  afternoon and had some slow cooked chilli co  carne with  jacketspuds and cheese there where a few of us there my daughters dog is called Bee she was very well behaved she is a very good natured dog should have took Rosie too .

GIVE ME HEAD

 THURSDAY - I was reading some posts from way back when I left my wife .I was living at my sisters house with her and her husband Alan I was extremely grateful .I left all my worldly good at the house ei shared with my to be ex-wife , it didn't bother me the main thing I wanted was my custom built pc.

Everything I owned all my worldly goods and possessions was all  in one large black head sports bag all my worldly goods including my iPod loaded with my favourite singers and songs .I felt free I was happy I had nothing the main things I had was my bag and two decent paid jobs both  through the week Monday to Friday starting at seven in the morning finishing at nine at night .

I remember the first things I bought was a LG Viewty  phone with a touch screen which was the first time I had a phone on a monthly  contract and a Logic-3 stereo speaker doc for my iPod Nono which was ok for the price , what more was there I needed .

I was paying zero board to my sister and brother in law and was totally free from everything I could pick up my bag and go anywhere my whole life was in one bag .I was happy to be alive it was a great couple of months I was answerable to no one , and was free to come and go as I wished .

My son is on his own at the moment he does not have a job he has very little of anything. In the house he lives in  is very basic . He can cook if he has food to cook  and he can shower to keep clean that's  if he has hot water a which  is a blessing as he is on a pr payment metre  He has his  own very small  bedroom . Apart from clothes and a cheap mobile phone he has few other possessions like me he is starting with nothing or very little once he gets a job he needs to spend wisely get his necessities sorted .The only way hopefully for him  is up . I started with nothing but I had two jobs which helped , a paid job is more what he  needs more than anything . I believe in him if he puts his heart and soul in he can accomplish everything .

MORE TIME ON SICK

 TUESDAY - Go to see the doctors tomorrow see what he says about my potential slipped disc in my lower back it has improved but its not as it should be if it moves it could leave me needing spinal surgery and I could loose the use of my legs I be a cripple I rather have Tim off work so it has more chance of healing or at least not risk it getting any worse I know there is no guarantee but if abstaining from work is advised then I will remain on sick .

WEDNESDAY - Went to the doctors I  was given another sick note until the 28th of March that's a full month off work which was not what I was expecting obviously I cant afford to but my back and discs under any strain wether it be pushing lifting or moving I am also getting referred to hospital for electromyography to test my nerve respond . I cant have a Msi scan until my doctor consults my surgeon to see what metals where used in my hip replacements if it is titanium I should be ok to have the scan , I think I am also looking at normal x-rays being under taken at some stage in time .

HANK MARVIN

 SUNDAY - Took the iPod classic out with me walking the dogs first things I might download a couple of audio books to listen to whilst I walk the dogs each morn .Maybe Stephen King or someones autobiography I have not gotten into  a good autobiography for a while .I also got a new braided  30 pin lead to connect it to my laptop etc.

Went over to Helens parents home at Acaster Malbis they had new laminate wood flooring done through out the living room ,kitchen and hallways looked really nicely done it looked stunning .

MONDAY - Went over to my sons he had no food or very little food I have never been that poor I have gone without food for a day I cant imagine going any longer unless you are ill being hungry is not acceptable your day must be shit looking in the fridge freezer and there being nothing . I get feed up when I don't have anything for desert of no cider I am extremely grateful I do realise I am lucky .

We had half a dozen frozen ready meals I also cooked a bowl of shepherds pie with swede , carrots and peas we also took him some boxes of  cereal .When we got to his house we emptied the car and took him to the supermarket to do some food shopping for some essential items like  bacon , sausages , ham , cheese , bread , milk , sugar , butter , scones , biscuits , juice , and fresh fruit pears and apples.

I know he also wanted tobacco and alcohol not essential , I didn't buy them for him Helen did give him a couple of cigs .

We also took him to the local food bank so he knows where it is when he gets his money on the next week he can sign up and get bags of food and toiletries when you have nothing it is a blessing.

 

SPOOKY HELEN

 SATURDAY - Forecast is snow in one hour hours time might not happen although it is cold enough might have to dust the slow cooker of get some braising steak thrown in with some veggies .Ended up gong to Asda and getting some smoked haddock new pots and sweet corn .

Went to the graveyard and church at Kirkthorpe near Wakefield Helen and the team was doing a paranormal investigation Helen ended up going into trance for a good ten minutes talking in strange voices of a girl or young woman called Abigail which was recoded a very spooky unexplained ten minutes the Bella doll was also saying spooky don't like it here .

After we all drove over  to the Red Beck Motel its open and serves food all night had steak pie chips and beans and a cappuccino 

RE-CHARGED RE-SYNC

 THURSDAY - I own a 160 gb iPod classic I have not had it out of my bedside drawer for a couple of years I have Spotify so it sort of made my iPod redundant .I decided to charge it up it was about 75% full of albums I connected it to my Mac book it totally erased the entire hard drive .The it said it was corrupted and I needed to download software but using finder it wouldn't do it I cant download iTunes to the version of iso I have installed /Lucky Helen Mac still has iTunes on it and I restored my iPod it is now running ok worse thing about it having to use wired ear phones but it is in superior condition .I saw on Goole news a Lady has just sold and original iPhone 1st edition for over $40k.

I bought a ten pack of cloudy cider I have not had a ice cold can for ages I have been drinking cheap cola rom supermarkets trying different ones the cheaper the better seeing Coca Cola have put their prices up as if they don't make enough .We also got fish and chips from our favourite take away in the centre of Holmfirth and you get them put into brown box'they also always have plenty of scraps .

I have been watching Jeremy Clarkson program "The Farm " what a load of red tape and bureaucracy I wouldn't want to be a farmer cant believe what hardship and money they don't get and leaving the EU have left loads losing subsidies the government promised they would get from the money saved not paying the EU membership same has the NHS lie after lie our government is shit they are ruining what was once a great country into a third world one , and they don't care .

SHROVE TUESDAY

 SUNDAY - Had a boring day pressure washed the patio at the back of the house like a lot cleaner and less  green .

Cooked shepherds pie for si=unday lunch with swede and carrot and cheddar chese on top of the mash also did a few chips and Yorkshire pudding with a nice rich gravy I didnt put any onions in it so the dogs could also have some minus the mash .

MONDAY - All week off its raining typical Monday .Helens enter a competition to win a £4 million pound house in Cornwall £10 for 15 draw tickets you also get a car and a couple of million in cash cant wait to move .

Nicola Bulley' update today body found in the  river  Sunday was identified has her , she missing for three weeks R.I.P a sad day hopefully foul play is ruled out .

Cooked steak and chips for tea with onion rings and garlic battered mushrooms the dogs like steak they had quite a bit .

TUESDAY - Shrove Tuesday cooked pancakes for breakfast we had fresh lemons in the fridge so I had lemon juice and sugar don't think I have had lemon juice and sugar on one for years was quite nice .

I am getting better at using my sage coffee machine I do the milk first than the coffee I am getting the milk hotter and not letting the coffee pour for as long the balance seems to be a nicer coffee .For the last five days I have not had any other coffee other than using my Sage .

NEGATIVE

 THURSDAY - My legs still ache but walking is not that bad whilst I am doin git the after effect makes them tired and worn out and they loose the ability to be flexible I have to lift them on to the coffee table or into bed I also have to do this effect in reverse and when I want them on floor lift them into position same getting I and out off the car .

Still watching the "Last Of Us " which is quite good for me on episode five which brings me unto date .I wonder if the sales of the game as gone up due to the tv series being shown I guess so .

Helen is still testing positive for covid - 19 hopefully over the next few days she will test negative .

FRIDAY - High winds blew the egg chair over the two seater bench and the chiminea also the tree in the corner by the fence is leaning over it was tied to the fence using sash cord which went into eyelets screwed into the fence post the cord held the eyelets came out at least it did not bring the fence down .

It would be impossible to replant or to straighten so we cut it down it was over twelve foot high and quite wide at the top well its chopped up and half of it is in an Ikea bag to go to the tip .

SATURDAY - Helen's lateral flow tested negative for the first time which is very positive I mean very negative lol .

VISIT TO THE VETS

 WEDNESDAY - Helen is a lot worse today she is pretty sure she also has a bladder infection obviously she cant go to the doctors , But will need a prescription for some medication which she got after ringing the doctors surgery and getting a phone back appointment I picked it up from the chemist a hour later .

Boring day read some of my books and watched You Tube videos as well as the classic film "The Bone Collector " the days are long I have been going to bed between half past ten and eleven o clock and I am sleeping through until half seven in the morning which must be helping me recovering .

FRIDAY - Took Rosie to the vets the outer part of her eyes are red we was in five minutes left with three tablets and a bill 0f £85 she is worth every penny .

WEEKEND - Looked after Helen from morning to night did all the cooking and cups of teas did a shepherds pie for Sunday lunch threw in some red wine carrots , swede and peas that was the highlight of the weekend .

MONDAY - Sick note for two weeks  I can continue to look after Helen who is  is still testing positive for covid I have had two negative  test results I had three vaccinations Helen had only one .

POSITIVE

TUESDAY - Had a good nights sleep took my first tablet 10mg Amitrptyline I woke up the usual time of 07.30 I walked the dogs I can feel pain in my right leg and a slight pain in my lumbar area of my back I can take two tablets I will see how I go . We know someone else who has this condition and he had to retire early and his on disability benefit hopefully I get better and return to work .

Helen has not been feeling well she did a covid lateral flow test it should positive after a few minutes she did another test after a few minutes it also showed positive I decided to do one after a few minutes mine came back positive we both have covid so even if I wasn't off sick already I would be today a double whammy 

TRAPPED

 SATURDAY - Went on a ghostwrited hunt at a haunted shop in Oughtibridge the was a Chinese take away  couple of doors down , guess the highlight of this Saturday night yep duck curry and chips .

On the drive home there was debris all over the road a car wa son its side someones Saturday night Sunday morning fcuked apparently there was a smell of weed and the driver was not driving his car oops no insurance payout .The police and ambulance eventually turned up the driver got out of the boot 

MONDAY - Last few days starting Friday night  I have been getting red hot pain in the top of both my thighs it is so bad that at first I cant walk I physically cant put one foot in front of the other to move myself forward a small walk the should take no longer than a minute can take well over  ten when going to bed I cant get my leg up high enough to get in to bed  I have an appointment at the doctors this afternoon .

It might be serious I learned from the doctor today that  I have a trapped nerve in my lower spin I was told to take the week off work its not looking good it might mean spinal surgery to ear to know for sure .I didn't want a week off work on sick I would rather be fit and in work , its not going to go down well at work but end of the day w are all just numbers , if I dropped dead tomorrow I be quickly replaced so a week off work I will take I also have some nerve pain killers ibuprofen are no good least I get free prescriptions .

2ND CUT

 WEDNESDAY -Haircut and back to work for my twilight shift off 18.00 - 02.00 at leats its only three to do and its the weekend once again .

FRIDAY - Rosie had a hair cut she had the full works she looks cute she was a bit of a handful but they did her ok .£40 well spent .It was only her second time at the groomers .

ENOUGH FOR BREAKFAST

SUNDAY - Slow cooked two massive pieces of braising steak with carrots , swede and potatoes plus a massive cup of red wine and other herbs and stock .After six hours I made some dumplings and transferred it to the oven to cook for another 25 minutes we had it with pancakes today it was filling was an understatement .

MONDAY - Woke up early so had a shave and jumped into the shower before taking the dogs out fo their morning walk.

It is my sons 30th birthday and I cant understand the position he is in .He is at rock bottom no employment no possessions and no food and its wearing me down. My income does not support him as well as me yet he does not seem to realise this as he is constantly phoning me saying he has no food nothing to do he's bored hungry no electric and  he seems to believe its my job to keep him as well as  to entertain him . To some how source  him a tv and buy him comfort food like cake , chocolate,  biscuits and  fizzy pop to keep him in tobacco and to  top up his phone which I have on numerous occasions. He does not understand that it is  his war and his  battle he is chief of command and should be fighting for a better life  he needs to start climbing out of the hole he has got himself into from today so his next birthday and Christmas are th best ever  .He needs a plan to focus  to get a job and go to work he needs to keep the job he gets and pay his way and prove his standard of life . He is a responsible able body adult . I though by now at the age he is at  he would have a loving partner nice house and car and be inviting us over for Sunday dinner taking me for  a curry and a pint the way his life is going its never going to happen .

Picked up Helens Michael Kors perfume they forgot to include the tote bag so they removed it off the display stand .

Went to Asda bought more bacon , sausages , canned baked beans and tomatoes as well as potatoes waffles along with two trays of beef mince and two fresh chickens won't starve this week .If you always have a enough food for a decent breakfast you will be sorted best part of the day .Need to get mushrooms and black pudding .
