Went up to Lawnswood crematorium Christmas day morning quite a few people there visiting passed away loved ones it was quite a moving experience.
Nobody as been added to the book remembrance as to having died or passed away on Christmas day since 2004 and hopefully no one will have had their Christmas ruined this year by the death of a loved one.

Did the Christmas shop yesterday at Asda went without a hitch was not that busy though it was going to be crazy apart from the cost was there and back in 2 hours.
Got the turkey crown and a piece of gammon and sweet potatoes for our Christmas lunch which we will have Boxing day and got all the Indian food and side dishes which we will have on Christmas day.

My Wife got me to chase up a Sony Ericsson mobile phone she had ordered from Curry's costing £160 plus postage which she paid for using a debit card , she had ordered it by phone and not online it was supposed to have been delivered and by tea time Friday no sign so i called Curry's help line which i got the number of the internet and made the call .
when i got through i gave them the order number no such number existed ? and got told it was a product number not a order number so i gave them my postal code it showed up no records for that address i gave up.

when my wife came home from work i told her it looked like the order had not been processed.

I asked her to check with the bank online statements to see if a payment had been made to curry's thats when we found out she had bought it from Comet and not Curry's oops

Walked into town at dinner time went looking for bag charms what they are suppose to charm and why have them i have no idea, bit like phones charms i guess its just a way to be different when everyone as the same bag or phone trouble is everybody ends up with the same charms i guess its best to make your own needles to say i bought one from Tie Rack they had a offer on buy one get the cheaper one half price so i ended up with two both was £9.99.

Found out some sad news today a close friend at work has been diagnosed with throat cancer it is in his lymphoid glands in his throat as well which i know is not a good sign .

He starts treatment this Friday after he has been to the dental hospital to check out his teeth before they will commence any cancer treatment they after to make sure that he will need no dental work until the end of his course of chemotherapy and radiation treatment which must completed before any further dental work can be carried out .

So if you can all send a pray for him for a speedy and full recovery it would be much appreciated and hopefully he will be around to see Christmas 2007 etc etc etc thanks.

Finished work Saturday picked up dragon bracelet what had been altered they have done a perfect job and worth the £20 alteration fee they charged.

my wife took our son into town and bought him some Adidas track suit bottoms Reebok tops and other various t-shirts and hoodies all at bargin prices from the various sport outlets in Leeds.

Hopefully all what is left to do regarding Christmas is to finish off writing the cards and wrapping a few presents up.

Do the food and beer run which hopefully will be this Saturday at Asda which no doubt will be manic, at least its only once a year .

We normally buy different Indian curries side dishes and starters nan breads for our Christmas day dinner we have done this for at least the last ten Years the kids have usually eaten too much chocolate or are not that fussed for a massive some beers have been consumed naturally so we are ready for something spicy

we can put it in the oven and within 30 miniutess its ready to eat no one is wasting Christmas day having to spend it in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove.
Then on boxing day we have Christmas day lunch usually a turkey crown with roasted parsnips done in honey and roast potatoes mash potatoes plus sweet potatoe and Swede little sausages with bacon chestnut stuffing and Yorkshire puddings with cranberry sauce and gravy .

the dogs cat get a fair share of the turkey and are quite happy eating it for a few days after .

my twin Sister is coming boxing day and will be the firstChristmass since our mother died which we will have without here she said for the last 20 years at every chritmas dinner this year will be my last chritmas she was right when she said it last year it was a standing joke and she was 87 when she passed away i don't think she had any doubts her time was neighh so hopefully there wont be too many tears and hopefully she will be enjoying Christmass with people gone on before her fingers crossed we will all meet up in the end ..........

It was nine thirty there where very few people about so much for Leeds being the capital of the North and it also gave us a chance to see some more of the lights you cant see from the road.

My son is fourteen in January and i cant wait until we go into town for a curry and a pint hopefully he will be game and hopefully it will be something we do on a monthly basis fingers crossed.

Had a good buy on eBay bought x-box game prince of Persia twin thrones for £4.20 plus £2.50 p&p and its brand new still in the cellophane wrapper £34.99 in the shops.
I will be playing it over thChristmasas period break breaking up on the 22nd of December and not back till January 2008 yipee have got to work new years weekend but can live with that.

My Wife as finally bought her Christmas present from me a black leather bag from River Island
also i bought her a bottle of euphoria perfume.

Took the Silver dragon bracelet i also got on ebay in to Ace jewellerys in Leeds (by the time you get to the top of the stairs you need oxygen ) for resizing.
didn'td'nt think it would be a big apparentlyntly its not that easy because silver needs to be heated upto a htemperatureture and because it has black highlights in the silver once its heated to a very high temp it acts like its polishing the silver and leaves it really bright as long as it fits and looks ok then tis fine with me , costing £20 to carry out the work which aint that bad i guess.

Someone bought the first lot of mince pies in to the office for everyone to share hope its snowballs and evertrays trys to do out each other with better mince pies visited Costco yesterday and they are selling 2 box's of mince pies flavoured with single scotch malt whiskey yum yum @ £6.99 .

Still need to sort out christmas lights for the front garden usally put them on the bush well its twigs now its lost all its leaves till spring got the wreath for the door last week then its count down till the food shop .

Friday, December 08, 2006

Left the office to go and visit an employer at Woodhouse near the University so i decided to have steady walk we are near the Royal Armouries at Clarence Dock and also it would give me an excuse to vist a couple of shops along the way.
i made it to the side of the market where the best Fish Shop in Leeds is i know because we used to walk into town from school for our dinner and spend the school dinner money usually on fishcakes and chips or if we where flush fish and chips they was good then and are just as good now,Only thing i did not opt for was the panda pop or if i remember cresta pop........ its frothy man if you can remember than you are as old as me or older hehe.

Yesterday we went to pick our new c2 up my wife started our Rover 25 only to find that it was completely dead as a dodo not a flicker bit like the wife in the bedroom so i had no choice but to call out GreenFlag luckily we have home start for the car not the wife .

The nice man from Green Flag got to our address within 20 mins and and soon as he got behind the wheel and guess what yeah the damned thing started , ah but when he switched it of and re tried it was as completely dead as it had been for my wife when she tried to fire it up .

apparently it was a immobilizer fault and we had to switch it off and on with the key fob to get it to work right .

we did get it to the showroom and we did pick our new motor up got to say the little c2 is quite impressive always remember the 2cv hehe but got to say Citroen have got their shit together and from our early driving experiences are more than happy hopefully we will still think like that in months to come the only problem we had is one of the keys didn't spring out when you pressed the release button so they are getting us a new one apart from that everything else sorted.

Hopefully there will be no major problems other than the wife will get to drive it more than me i have a metro card lucky me

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Late last night i put a bid on eBay for a 925 solid silver dragon bracelet i placed a maximum bid as well when i logged of they was still six hours to go and they had been also another 6 other bidders.

i really didn't expect to get any where near the final bid when i checked this morning i found out i had won it i reckon i have got it for at least half price what some of the others have gone for good old eBay the eBay shop i bought it from have had over 3000 sales with 100% positive feed back so i reckon there is no way its not coming to England via air mail in about 14 days time if I'm lucky.

Went to Reg Vardy Citroen delarship to look at C2's had a really nice basic c2 trouble was the seat height adjustment is not fitted so it would mean my wife would have to have a cushion taped to her arse so she could see over the steering wheel to drive it so we ended up buying a c2 Furio which as adjustable seats where you can move it forward and back and also adjust the height as well not much to ask for.

We took it for a test drive and it was adequate even though we went for 1100cc engine i would have preferred a 1400 not for the extra speed which wouldn't be that much faster just because of normal wear and tear i would guess the bigger then engine the better it would cope with the modern city driving of stopping and starting get stuck in traffic all the time during rush hour etc.

Anyway we was sold we paid the deposit and pick it up tomorrow afternoon we got £1500 trade in for our rover theminimumm trade in allowance was £800 anyway i was more than happy with the trade in offer and considered it more than fair.

These two little rascals can go to the highest bidder check out eBay special offers buy one get one free hehe just don't tell the wife happy bidding o/l joking of course they are priceless and not for sale for no amount of cash the wife on the other hand hehe will trade for a dish washer some one who likes music and dont watch tv every night and as a bit of a sex drive lol .

well its coming up to Christmas and i bet this year will be no different she will end up using every cooking utensil to cook and eat Christmas dinner, from every plate, pot, baking tray ,Yorkshire pudding tray and roasting tin the lot even the gravy boat will come out and the wine glasses why we cant just have a bottle each i don't know and it goes without saying its me who does the washing up which i don't mind as long as I'm by myself, alone no one interfering ie the wife o/j not.

what bugs me is when someone comes behind you and chucks items into the washing up bowl ie the wife ......Why am i not capable are you being such a big help you really think its assisting me in some why shape or form i do hate it i want to scream also i have got to rinse everything off with hot water before they go anywhere near the washing up bowl once i have washed every thing then its got to be rinsed off with hot water before i allow to stand to dry off and i definitely don't wont use tea towels .

Monday, November 27, 2006

The mechanic who fixed the head casket on our car a Rover 25 took it back to flush the coolant system out and re add the anti freeze and was surprised how much oil it had used in the short time we have had it back and considering the amount of miles we do he thinks its the start of major problems.

As a result of this he has advised us to get rid asp, Del boys Reliant Robin would be a better buy or even a car from Arthur Daley, so it does look like we are going to have to trade it in pretty sharp been thinking of getting a citroen C2 of course would like the new model corsa but the Citroen will work out cheaper to buy insure and and run etc .

so the first port of call will be the citroen dealership atm the are offering £1700 cash back if you do the deal before30thh November will have to hurry only three days to go not sure if i want to rush in that quick ummmmmmmmmm.

Thursday, November 23, 2006

Have finally sold my other house we was expecting them to demand a reduction in the sale price due to the fact that the person buying it from us put in a offer five thousand over the asking price, why I'm not sure it was not worth more than the asking price and if the truth is known we was happy to reduce it even further to sell a vacant property which we was paying the mortgage on.

Even after the survey which must have found the electric wiring was not up to scratch and the damp coming in through the attic roof the original price held so we are more than happy to have this of our hands.

We now have a desirable amount of cash in our bank account more than we could have hoped for when eight years ago when we moved out of the house and took on another mortgage for the house we are in now, we would have had to have sold it for six thousand pounds less than we bought it for so much for investing inproperty and negative equity but saying that, even if we had broke even we would have been more than happy at the time to have had a buyer and sell it just to get it out of our hair.

Anyway we can now get on with the our plans for the extension to our house which is to include a porch to the front of the house and extension /conservatory to the rear of the property in all for the building work for both projects will come in at 20k the conservatory is going to have solid walls on each end with small open sash windows to the top of the walls.
the roof to be traditional double hipped roof with a box guttering to the rear.

The front to have traditional French patio doors to the outside and the interior doors hopefully it will be a big improvement all round will have to sort the Ariel out for sky and might have to tweak the wireless set up out again but can live with that hassle .

The interior brickwork is being left exposed without any plaster just pointing off the existing house wall will be plastered .

At least it all wont commence before Christmas and will start mid January 2007 good time to furnish it with all the New Year sales on

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

Yesterday i had my first piece of Christmas cake bought one whilst shopping in Sainsbury's also bought my first bottle of Magners Irish cider which i have been meaning to try for sometime but always manage to forget it of the shopping list or it as always been sold out.

Had a KFC in the White Rose Shopping centre once the skin is eaten throw the chicken away got to admit do like KFC gravy full of fat so had a diet coke to wash it all down that was after we had been round most of the shops i did buy some black Lacoste trainers only because both of my white trainers bought in the summer look too grubby to go out in anywhere half decent and also for best a pair of black jeans from Topman for twenty quid .

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean dead mans chest which i feel asleep half way through and scary movie four which i thought was utter rubbish.

Went for the quaterly visit to the barbers which for some reason was closed so i had to pay double at a hair dressers got to admit i did end up with a better cut but who cares its going to grow again .

The vacuum my wife bought from Tesco with her points from her clubcard was a total waste of time do one room and it needs emptying a warning light comes and and you have to empty it even though its not full so she is going to have to take it back and get something better with all the pets we have need a decent vacuum cleaner.

Also had to nip out and buy the gecko some new crickets and meal worms couldn't get it any fresh moss will have to go somewhere else for that my Son neglects to tell us when he runs out of stuff which no doubt piss the Gecko off it doesn't ask for much and is well easy to keep .

Break up tonight for five days i just know tomorrow my wife will want to go for a lunch time Chinese dinner cant wait...........Will have to try and convince her to go for a Indian instead .

Got the car back today my wife phoned me to tell me the bill was £198 i reckon for that price it cant have been a the head casket more like a seal will have to check with the mechanic tomorrow to find out the what caused the damage to the engine etc, anyway everybody thought it was going to coast the best part of £500-£600 so i can live with bill we have been presented with.

might now think about part x ing it asp just in case its the start of on going problems will have to check out on the cmon deals on the new vauxhall corsa at least with the meager miles we do a new car will last us 1o years no problem ..........

Monday, November 13, 2006

Finished working on Sunday at 3 0 clock when i was driving home and the head casket went on the car made it home and i knew something was up when the oil warning light came on its just been fully serviced so i expected the worse either it was losing oil or it was burning oil .

the the engine warning light came on by the time i got it home there was smoke also appearing from under the bonnet when i lifted the bonnet after it cooled down, that's when i saw the oil had gone into the water reservoir thats when i knew i was gonner get a huge garage bill.

never mind gonner get some chocolate fudge cake and double cream it wont make the bill any less but at least whilst iam eating i wont be thinking about anything else hehe...........................

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Worked over last night and was really late getting in i feed my dog which is a Jack Russell and is the most friendly dog in the whole of the UK .

Other dogs will bark at it,and it just wags its tail near children its joyful and lick lick licking.

When it eats it goes out for a walk to near by woods fields depending on what time and how dark it is ,we just got out of the drive and a loud explosion went off it was of course it a firework it was no where near the dog but she hates them and the noise terrifies her even if it is obvious no where near us i guess dogs must be able to judge distance when they hear and she must know its not in the vicinity and no immediate threat, but every time she does a roundabout turn and heads for the safety of her bed or home

No amount of comforting petting or kind words will get her to carry on with her walk. This was about 9:00pm midnight i am sat in bed and realized i never took her back out i had no choice but to get dressed and let her go for a walk she was suppose to go on earlier.

I also found out tonight that a old guy down on the allotments had fireworks thrown into his pigeon coup this man who is well in to retirement and lives for his pigeons he attends to them daily is down there at first light letting them fly feeding them and mucking out and general digging, planting, reaping and sowing and another 101 things in the day to day up keep of his allotment plot this is in sun rain wind hail what ever the weather.

Now the idiot or idiots thugs delinquents who did this might have shortened a old mans life no doubt he is in terrible shock, and from what i have been told a few of his birds have died as a result of this action so why cant fireworks be banned and if people want to celebrate the act of a terrorist then let them at official displays.,

His biggest worry now is this going to happen again this year if not next year and so on he cant live down there 24/7 and he knows as soon as its unguarded then there is a window of opportunity for it to happen again.

If we do ban the sale of fireworks ,mini bombs perhaps no more cruelty to animals or pets will occur neither will any child suffer as a result of burns and mindless pranks.........

Received a phone call from my daughter today at work she asked if on my way home from work could i would call in at Borders the book shop and buy her John Steinbeck's "of mice and men " .
apparently they are reading it in school and it is part of the English literature work.

I remember reading the same book when i was at high school 30 years ago its nice to see how teaching as moved forward and things haven't stayed the same.

it annoys me when people are leaving school not understanding different aspects of modern day to day life E.G signing on the JSA rock and roll , methadone projects ,needle exchange centers build a blunt classes etc etc but are familiar with books we was reading in the 60's and 70's good old secondary education( now i know why its called secondary). Iam not in no way shape or form having ago or a dig at the Teachers they are delivering what is being asked of them and no doubt do a first class job but someone somewhere should wake up and smell the coffee its a totally different aroma more chocolate mocha then Camp.

it wont be long before Shakespear and Latin are making a come back and IT and media studies are ancient history tis a funny old world ain't it

Sunday, October 29, 2006

Few people got caught out at work this morning instead of turning up on time for the seven o clock start a couple turned up a hour early..makes it a long day.

I remembered to turn the clock back but i woke up as normal it will take a few days for the body clock to adjust.

A good friend called round tonight to re-set certain configurations on my pc i thought that CCL would have D/L'd latest drivers for graphics card etc but they hadn't they didn't set the corsair memory to the correct settings in the BIOS either part of the cost of the build was to sort all of this stuff out he also change some wireless settings to hopefully make it run better and so far its looking like the changes he made are running good so big thanks Rob.

Not been round the back of the house to check out the cricket population will have to remember to do this in the next day or so.

bought a miniature bottle of Jack Daniels with small metal hip flask and funnel from Asda a snip at £3.99 ideal when mornings or nights the bus knocks must old a couple of shots to keep the cold at bay i do know that alcohol and spirits lowers your body's core temperature but seeing i am not living at the north pole what the heck. Also when the miniature bottle runs out be like on Tuesday the way our bus run,it will be a good excuse to go out to the off license and buy large bottle or two.

Friday, October 27, 2006

Here is the gecko tracking down its supper atm there is only three crickets in there and the gecko is in the process of shedding its skin THE WIFE DOES THE SAME HEHE .

Must go buy it some fresh moss which is kept damp and moist UNLIKE THE WIFE ON THAT SCORE and when it wants to chill out it will sit on top and keep cool the wife goes on Ebay .

Eventually it will need a much bigger tank than the one it is currently living in
and will try feeding it meal worms instead of the crickets which at least wont jump about the tank or the container when we try and get them out.

pretty sure they know that are all on borrowed time we feed the crickets broccoli and Greens the vitamins are then passed on to the gecko as it eats the live bait.

So it is like having loads of little pets thrown in literally obviously don't get too attached to the crickets and where all part of the food chain eventually after all we all end up feeding the worms for all of us out there I do hope its later rather than sooner..............
Bought a Netgear wireless router Dg834pN for the laptops what a piece of rubbish hardware.
When i ran the installation disc it was recommend you use the netgear utility to program type in http://192.168.0.1 to set up the wireless network but to configure the other PC's it was ten times easier using Microsoft settings to configure them it up especially setting the 64 bit wep key security settings.
Atm back using my adsl modem to connect to my ISP the Netgear kept dropping its connection down to barely a trace wouldn't even load firefox disabled windows firewall my sygate firewall mad no difference and that was on my machine where the phone line is connected to and Netgears internal modem i have been looking at reviews for the DG834PN and people are having the same problems as me so I'm pretty sure its not a meatware error hehe

been looking at d-link which i was tempted to go with in the first place didn't know now why i didn't but want to make sure it is not some stupid configuration what needs adjusting or resetting

Was cleaning out my son's gecko out last night with him we completely emptied out the bark ,moss and was going to put fresh stuff back I noticed that they was loads of live crickets jumping about the tank so instead of dumping everything into a black bin bag we decided to empty the lot on the back of the near bye garden allotments the back of the houses back onto a walkthrough to the other side of some woods and there is loads of newts frogs toads etc hopping about .So all the crickets went free and did.nt end up as gecko food.

we put fresh bark moss in and the rest of the stuff back into the tank and returned the gecko to its newly spring cleaned home.I told my son not to feed anything as the amount of crickets what it hadn't eaten it must have been well stuffed and we agreed to feed it the following night.

Half hour later my Daughter came into the room with the look of sheer terror on her face I asked her what was wrong and I was getting worried thinking something was drastically wrong.
She had decided to check on the gecko noticed it had no food I think she knew we had cleaned him out but she thought we must have forgoten to feed him in the process of opening the box of crickets she manage to empty a full cartoon of live crickets into the geckos tank
at least 60 plus was hoping jumping about we took a few out but they was just too many of god's little creatures.

so it was another trip to the back of the allotments to add to the already new formed cricket colony population.
I don't know the life cycle of a cricket or how fast the can breed etc and I don't really know if they will survive but I guess if there is a abundant amount of crickets next year we will have had a small part in the replenishment of the local wild life .

This is my wife's baby girl she is adorable and today she went to the vets to get her booster injection we have another chiahuhua called chico who is a dog. But Tia is the boss and leads him a merry dance anything he as she wants although they both get treat the same they can be both can be given identical chews, dinners and toys etc she will always want what he as got once she as got her own way she wants to swap again.

It is not very often he will put her in her place and he is more than happy to give in to her wishes most of the time just like being married i guess.

Anyway she was brave at the vets and didn't make a single sound when she had her injection she might be small but she is tuf 'n' nuf what you have to remember if you all did not know is that chiahuhua's are the only breed of dog that cry real tears........
It was my birthday yesterday i have a twin sister so it was a joint celebration we went for a nice meal at the White House near Roundhay Park Leeds. The drinks was quite expensive but the food was spot on had a mixed grill which was £10.99 and was just abit more than what a pig would eat.
My twin sister and her husband bought me a canon lide 60 flat bed scanner which was easy to install and use, its the first scanner i have ever had and its going to be a long job to scan all the photos we have as a family but i look forward to doing it.

My Wife bought me a new chair to sit on whilst i am at my computer got a height adjuster and its the first proper seat i have had so all in all I'm more than happy.

We bought my Sister a leather jewelery case and a scrap book album and a rustic metal nodding dog for her garden put she is going to keep it in the house.

My other Sister gave me a metal hipce brief case type storage container for all my disc's and softwareprogram'ss which holds 180,she also gave me a cheque from the sale of my mothers house. My mother died in Febuary this year aged 84 and of course its our first birthday without her so thanks to my sister for being so generous and thanks to my Mum and Dad for the new digital camera i am going to buy.

the said machine got the wireless working first attempt which i was pretty amazed at only thing missing it believe it or not i never invested in a new mouse mat and the old one i have thrown out.
slight fault on the pc error message coming up when i shut down about A:drive being open and not ready to use its telling me to try again later'

originally i was going to have a card reader slotted in but it was not compatible so i had the option of adding a floppy drive to the 3.5 inch bay but i declined i think it was configured to take some type of drive and because nothing was fitted or installed its throwing up this error message its only when i log of.

So if i disable A: drive in the bios this should sort it the annoying message out i will check with CCL to make sure my theory is correct tomorrow before i do anything regarding the bios settings .Apart from that i,am more than pleased with everything.
FRIDAY ...........Got notification that the new pc was ready to pick up so of i went to CCL to collect it i added to the build a 108 mbps netgear range max adsl wireless router and two netgear usb wireless adaptors for the laptops. Waited for them to bring it all out went to pay for it with my visa card when they phoned up to get authorization it was well over £1000 it was refused why idon'tt know i phoned my wife to make sure the funds had beentransferredd and the money had been credited to ouraccountt and they was more than enough to cover the cost.
Had the guy from CCL to try it again to go through with the sale using my visa card you've got to remember this as far as i know on the other end of the phone is a guy in India processing this transaction and he is asking me stupid security questions that i just cant get right like what direct debts come out on what days, to which i have no idea i just earn the money what comes out when icouldn'tt answer if my life depended on it,ask me my date of birth my Mums maiden name my post code phone number something i know he finally asked me what none utility bills are paid using direct debt i guessed the mortgage then he asked where my building society branch was then asked me to spell Leeds hehe anyway it finally gotauthorizedd and i got my pc

Did some serious damage to a hire van today got distracted whilst driving through a narrow opening and badly damage the side door and window it was a right mess.

Plus they was loads of people standing around watching oops I was half way through the opening and I must of over steered too much right hand and hit the brick column on my left there was loads of people milling around the yard and i was looking that they was not in the way.

After getting my line manager to phone up the hire company and taking a few photos I got in the van and drove it back to the hire company to return it my choice .Got to admit I was thinking all I need to do now is the other side reversing it out of the compound to really add insult to injury .

I ask myself is this the end of my driving career is it the end of white van man not sure watch this space I have been driving over twenty years without a incident or accident all I can say is I would no way would I like to drive a 18 wheel rig and to those people that do then respect rather you than me driving the van mini bus is enough was added to my duties , my work load might have just got reduced.

Once its repaired and the bill comes in Will let you all know what the damage really is.At least no third parties was involved or any person seriously injured. On a brighter note got tomorrow Friday Monday and Tuesday of but am working the weekend and hopefully pick up the new computer tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Orange had serious problems with there internet connection due to third party system melt down what a nightmare not having the internet for a whole two days hated it , had to watch t.v wash up and walk the dog and all other boring stuff hopefully orange have it sorted and we will keep connected.

Got a delivery today at half past five this morning yeah that's 05.30 am of 2x Mexican pine chest of drawers which you've already guessed my wife had ordered off eBay apparently it had to be this early or god forbid we would have to wait till Monday. So i bet you all can guess what i was up to when i got home.

After i finished i went to global rental to hire a few movies they now charge £3.00 a night on all new release's what a rip off i would rather wait until HMV or Virgin have their monthly sales,
than pay out to Global it use to be 3 for the price of 2 and two night hire for £7.00 saying that i still got out district 13 but i did put back the other two films i was going to rent.
Finished working on the pc last night and shut down no problem,my daughter finished doing her home work on her laptop and wanted to print it out to hand in to school, her laptop is not configured with the software to run the printer.

I t old her to save it to floppy disc but her laptop as no floppy disc drive as i couldn't find my USB pen drive to save it to so I told her to burn it to disc and I would print it off using my pc.

i Switched mine back on only to find the monitor had given up the ghost it was a Hewlett Packard A4576A 21" I have had it about five years and my mate I bought it off also purchased it second hand so it had many hours of use.

so i now am without a computer and have to use my wife's laptop already I'm trying to borrow a monitor and cant stand the thought of having no working functioning desk top is this sad or wot.

atm i have four ripped dvd's hours upon hours of music photos i-tunes etc etc a good friend years ago lost his filofax and was gutted for weeks i now know the feeling ..

So today I phoned CCL Computers up to see how my system build was doing I went to place the order two weeks ago today and I honestly believe they have not even started it.

I was told by E,mail not phone that the memory I wanted was out of stock so I upgraded it to some they had in thinking problem solved .
just slot in the memory ready to pick up following day this was last week.

I don't mind waiting another two weeks I'm a patient guy what I hate is not being told up front it will be this long .I certainly don't want it throwing together all I want is to be informed of the way things are.

And I keep thinking if this is the service people get before they pay in full what is the after sales service going to be like once they have your cash in the till and the pc is handed over to the customer to take away home.

I did pay £40 for a 7 day build its now 2 weeks and will more than likely be ready Monday which i can live with will i get a reduction in the bill will see when i pick it up .......................

Put a new bedroom door on my Daughters bedroom last night after I had finished work ,there was mortise lock fitted to the first door and she lost the key and the spare key was missing .
so I had no choice put to kick it in totally wrecking the door in the process to say as soon as I had finished kick boxing the door the spare key showed up.

This morning going to work I nearly wrote of the rental minibus, I was going down a back street which work backs on to and is quite long and a fast speed easily reached and maintained I saw a artic wagon and trailer ahead and it was half way across myside of the road so he could swing it round .

I thought no problem he was enough distance away from me for it not to be a major concern then instead of making the turn he stopped whether it was to let another pass I'm not sure all I know is i was on top of him in a blink of a eye and I had to mount the kerb to avoid a very near miss, so near I had my eyes tight shut at one point if anyone had filmed it with out a doubt it would be on the worlds worst drivers.................

Sunday.
The Wifey does quite a lot of buying and selling on eBay, and she sold a food processor to a guy in Batley near Leeds he paid for it via Paypal as a buy it now and the money was deposited into the wife's eBay account no problem

.The Asian gentleman picked it up from our home address in Leeds which I was not happy with I don't think we should be inviting strangers to our house I work weekends but he came to collect it Friday afternoon and perfect polite no worries.

Checking my email which my wife uses for eBay as well ,and he as sent a email saying the item had been used and my wife stated it was new on her eBay listing,so straight away he left negative feed back the first one for my wife in over 45o transactions. He said he wanted a full refund or he would inform eBay and try to have us black listed .

I don't like being threatened and was tempted to go tell him to take a running jump.

When I had calmed down I thought let him keep the food processor and refund him his thirty pounds as well don't want anybody thinking bad of us not only that he found a receipt in the box stating where it was bought and for how much this was dated 2001.

My wife emailed him back saying we would refund his money if he withdrew his negative feedback so this Sunday after I finished work we went to his flat in Batley to pick up the item and give him his money back.

my wife had been given the food processor to sell on behalf of a friend whom claimed it was an unwanted gift and had ever been used, so did it in good faith and to be honest looked like it was indeed brand new but had been opened.

We have since found out it had been used once and obviously not cleaned properly to make dough .
The Asian buyer must of though we had stiched him up good and proper and I am not sure whether it is to do with his religion maybe he is not allowed to use goods used by others which might have been used on none halal produce I don't know, but we was sympathetic to his plight.

his wife was in the flat along with his 10 month old son I was invited in along with my wife he retracted his negative feed back and we gave him his refund and took the food processor back with us everybody happy.

On the way home we collected a Indian take away rogan josh and rice mixed kebabs not sure what food processer they used to make the dough for the nan bread but they was spot on ................................

Went back to working weekends had last two weekends off one on A/L the other on sick at least it did not drag and did not have to do my return to work which is always a pain in the butt.

On the way to the bus stop I stopped on the way and bought St.Christopher and a Crucifix to go on to my leather I-pod case just to customize it up a bit and make it unique and also to keep the faith,i bought them from a Christian belief shop in the city centre.

They had loads of rosaries and statues and more elaborate hardwood crucifix crosses, last supper portraits ,china wear and glassware for holy water different blessings and pin badges and everything else under the sun to do with Christian belief and religion the crucifix set me back a whopping 99p and the St.Christopher medal at massive £1.20 i have just attached them both on to the carrying strap of my case.

And to keep the faith alive and the ethos of helping others i did my bit for help the aged and got a sticker for a 50pdonationw what you are all thinking lol but if we all gave 50p blah blah blah hehe.................

Got to work this morning and when i logged on to my computer the dreaded virus pop up window was still appearing.
I had no choice but to phone the I.T dept to seek advise, they cleared it up using XP's remote manager good one Bill he will be a millionaire before long, and hopefully no questions will be asked. But it has teached me a lesson untill the next time .

Had a email from CCL who is building my p.c they are waiting for delivery of cosair memory for the computer so it will delay the building time which was supposed to be finished today and i was hopefully to pick it up and pay for it but i was going to wait till monday anyhow , they are not getting any new stock untill the 10th of October ,why was this not realised when it was ordered not online i did go to the trade counter of CCL at Tong and went through the order .I have emailed them with a alternative choice which is £18 dearer but bet i dont get it at the price of my original choice. And hopefully it will be ready for this coming monday after all.

Driving to Barnsley from Leeds today in the Jeepers Creepers van and the windscreen wipers feel apart one now washes away under the windscreen and its completly lost from view and the drivers side just flew off managed to wedge it back on and it continued to wipe in a fashion so went the A roads back to Leeds which at a steady thirty miles a hour to three times as long so why should i complain it was a nice drive through Horbury and Dewsbury. And seeing that i had full tank of diesel i was in two minds to detour via the Lake District and they was also a choice that if the rain was going to get any worse then would it have been a good excuse to find a transport cafe.

Got delivery of black antique door handles brass hinges and mortice latches from screwfix today which i ordered online this monday using my works computer hehe should,nt pick up owt nasty from screwfix hehe just got to check on what link i clicked on when Google threw up the results i would have trouble expalining that one to the I.T dept when i ask them what a dialler is ...

I did a silly thing at work today i checked out a cd on the works computer that a friend had done with some programes he thought i might like to try out.

And yes you have already guessed it the works antivirus detection programe popped up with a virus threat it had found and terminated, he swears they was no virus contained on the disc. I can only hope that the detection it is finding is not a virus put some type of spyware and because i have not run anything off the disc or installed anything its just being highly sensitive.

The antivirus programe keeps popping up telling me its deleted and quarantined the virus hopefully when i log of today and reboot in the morning everything will be removed during the night off the main server and in the morning will be back to normal.

God knows what will happen if i have infected the system highly unlikley but it will teach me not to run anything at work from anyone in future.

I suppose with pendrives every body burning stuff to disc it so easy to infect a p.c.that reminds me must stop blogging at work hehe..........

MONDAY
Back at work and its organised chaos got an induction which i am down to do, no paperwork completed or list of those attending is available so its total guess work i have no idea who or how many people will turn up or even if they are on the correct course never mind will teach me to take a break.

Trying my best to get either monday next week or Tuesday hopefully pc will be ready for collection from CCL so at least got that to look forward to.

Got a firm offer on the house and its in the hands of the solicitors to complete the process for a fee £395 nice work if you can get it.Might not have to pay capital gains on it or if we do not as much as we first thought but after speaking to the tax office they might want nothing wtf its unlikely i know but they might be a God smiling down on us who knows.

someone as just lent me white stripes elephant cd i'm quite impresed and are liking what i hear.waiting for P.Diddy's new album out soon and it's on my wish list.

Got to get something to eat hunger pangs are setting in and i have bad headache due to lack of caffine no doubt.
Also got to try and finish watching lucky number slev7n 3rd time of trying.

Last day off work and i started reading the new James patterson Mary Mary its easy to get in to and iam already hooked on the plot would be so easy to read in one setting but will save it for the daily grind of bus journeys from work .Its my last day off till the end of October unless i can get a flexi day in between it will be work work work .Never mind no rest for the wicked.

Saturday, September 30, 2006

Went to PC World yesterday and we bought a e-system laptop for my wife might make he shut up about the time i spend on th pc .Its mainly so she can keep tracks of her Ebay listings and wheeling and dealings Del boy would be proud not that she gets that many bargins and her email account she can now email to her herats consent and generally just surf the net stop her using mine it really bugs me cant have owt.
wont be long before she is moaning about bandwith and d/l speed

It came with a antler carry case a lazar mouse and 50 dvd+r discs thrown in if you ordered online than picked it up in store why when itcame with dvds when its a dvd rom drive and cd/rwdrive i,m not sure .Anyways got home it was all set up and running fine thats when my Daughter came in and asked if it was for her.

So it was back to pc world to but another one they are £349 ,my wife and i both thought that our daughter would turn her nose up at one seeing that its not all white with a apple logo on the case, how wrong was we .

I have now got very little or no chance of getting online until we are all net worked as one we are all taking turns of using one internet connection first one home first one plugged in to the modem.

Went for dinner at Maxi,s chinese resturant at the Light in Leeds city centre. They do a buffet menu as much as you can eat for £5.90 a head it was great food. But we only had a choice of nine items on the menu and very little choice for veggies.

Also had to pay up front no doubt too many people doing runners, which if that was your plan then dont eat too much or your gonner be so eay to catch hehe. Will not eat anything for another twenty four hours hopefully................

Thursday, September 28, 2006

Went this morning to CCL computers to place order for a pc to be built by them .
Going for a Shuttle xpc sn27p2 barebones case into this i have added a seagate barricuda sata 320 gig hard drive and a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ cpu and i1 gig of cosair ram blah blah blah i wont bore myself or others with all the details .But this is the first brand new computer i have ever owned all my other pc's have been bought second hand with new bits upgraded and added to them plus they have all run pirated copies of windows ME and Xp now i have gone legit i will be able to run microsoft updates without facing the wrath of Bill Gates. So this is diffentlya big moment for me to go out and spend a huge amount of cash on a brand new p.c.

I can remember years ago when one day when i got home from school and my Dad had gone out and bought himself a Phillips 4 track reel to reel tape recorder from Comet,on the bus he went he did'nt own a car and he was like a pig in shit with it when he got it back home . He had it wired in to the radio recording his favorite tunes pirated music happening even back then it was a Ecko transistor valve radio a big polished wood piece and the lead to be able to do this he made himself and i thought yeah great for you dad go for it but at the back of my mind was thinking along the lines of its only a bloody machine.

Now i know what my Dad was really feeling like my new pc will be ready, fingers crossed in seven days from today and no doubt my kids will be thinking along the same lines as me all those years ago its only a machine, when iam beaming ear to ear.

Today i also went for a badly needed hair cut always at the local barbers £6.00 including tip money well spent. And still another three more days off work yipee.............................

Wednesday, September 27, 2006

Today bought James Patterson's new novel Mary Mary not started reading it yet but no doubt should be par for the course features FBI agent Alex Cross and murder great for the bus journey home on a night, cant read first thing on the morning cnat have mp3 player on and read either .And no doubt it will be more interesting then whats writing here hehe.

All so bought this months issue of Skin Deep with the free custom ink supplement thats still in the plastic wrap not looked at it,get strange looks on the bus ,cone it before if there is any nude models or girl's in general with tattoos or piercings every one thinks its a porn mag and being called skin deep dos'nt help I was hoping to get my next tattoo done tomorrow seeing that i have got four days off from work i go back Monday, but i phoned my tattoo artist and found out he as been on sick you would think with all the drugs he was on he be immune to the common cold o/j he's clean .

Might have to see if he's fit to ink on friday instead will go price up a new computer tomorrow i dont want to go too mad on price i just want a half decent machine with a decent size h/d 300 gig would be about right for my needs. Not sure if i want or really need a dual core processor and not sure wether to go with a Pentium or Athlon or get a 64bit cpu decisions decisions.

A tft wide screen is a must atm i have a 21 inch crt which just takes up too much room and puts out too much heat the wife cools the bedroom down at the end of the day hehe right little fridge freezer she is.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

The viewings at the old house went well.It was a good turn out by all accounts two people have put in the asking price which i cant belive. The Estate agent as got more people to view this Wednesday and is convinced he can get us another 5k+,all i say is dont count chickens i was always going to be chuffed to get the asking price never mind any more.Anyway will wait till wednesday see what pans out.

Looks like a new p.c is in the planning stages the wife can blow the rest ,would like a new digital camera the one i have is eons old and since i dropped getting into the house after a party at my sisters the zoom button has stopped working.

Got Thursday,Friday,Saturday and Sunday off this week looks like its odds on for a carboot this sunday unless a local computer fair is on.

Had to buy a new mouse yesterday left click gave up the ghost its only when you have to buy something froma major outlet that you realise how cheap it is buying online.

bought a i-pod mains charger online for £4.99 inc postage ordered it friday bought it before i got the i-pod and it came monday Currys wanted £24.99 for something similar my ribs still hurt from the howling i made the sales assistant is convinced iam on happy pills and kept checking his flies hehe.

Sunday, September 24, 2006

My Wife phoned in sick for me yesterday had Sunday off as well ,will try and take them both as holidays but i know without asking they wont let me do that, even though i have holidays to take. went into town centre saturday morning first thing,i bought a 4 gig electric blue i-pod nano and a leather case. Its a great piece of kit not sure about i-tunes need to get my head round it. So far i have got tracks on to the i-pod no probs its when you want to change tracks but keep others on, it wipes every thing off and starts from scratch and puts different tracks back on i need to set it to do it manually rather than have it set on sync when it detects the i-pod is plugged in off it goes , but apart from that its great.

I do only have usb 1 atm which slows transfers down but it charges it up fine which i was impressed and amazed with just in case i have ordered a charging unit off Ebay you just plug into the mains . The house is now cleared attic to cellar no more skips and no more trips to the local tip yipee, the white van man and his sidekick was brilliant what a team they was both happy go lucky moved what ever we asked them to with no moans or groans was money well spent. Now ts all been swept out carpets ripped up and florboards disenfected ready for the viewings on monday just got to drop keys off to the Estate agents on the way to work in the morning.got some dvd's on rental silent hill, lucky number slevin been meaning to watch it since it came out and Wesley Snipes new realease detonator one big bag of popcorn and six bottles of stella chillin in the fridge a great finish to the week ..........................

Friday, September 22, 2006

Playing a bad card tomorrow phoning in sick at work i need to sort out the cellar door its more secure, screwed up nailed up wedged up then a camels arse in a sandstorm .Got a bloke and his sidekick (steptoe and son no doubt )coming tomorrow to move stuff out of the cellar no job to small yeah i bet. So they will need to gain entry into the cellar via the outside, its gonner take a good two hours to sort it all out and put it back together again as it was i have no choice but to call in sick but seeing as i get paid when i phone in sick and its time and a half on saturdays i always feel guilty, plus i am the worlds worst liar and leaving a message on the works answer machine iam always convinced, that i sound so lame its game over.
. Nobody will touch fridges these days you'd think it was radio active waste i was disposing of.I know its all to do with the cfc gas omissions into the atmosphere etc but why make life difficult no wonder so much fly tipping goes on.
Well done to Richard Branson for donating all his profits for the next ten years into scientific research into new fuels made from corn and new ways to prevent global warming.Paul McCartney,Bill Gates get your cheque books out.
Anyway white van man wants £95 to move a industrial printer the two washing machines and the cooker and guess what he's got the job if it saves my back trapped fingers skinless knuckles iam all for it. Still got two carpets and underlay to rip up one double bed to smash into vauxhall vectra size boot pieces a computer desk and a chest of drawers then we should just about be left with a empty shell .The Estate Agent as got a mass viewing monday of eager buyers and property developers calling so hopefully it will start a bidding frenzy.

Thursday, September 21, 2006

I always wanted a vehcile to turn heads my wish as been granted, the only trouble is you can hear it 20 seconds before you can see it.
Selecting gears is alright unless you require 1st or 2nd.
and forget all hill starts and motorways it would be a big hit in Holland.Roll on winter months should be alright if i follow the grit wagons , and thank God i only get to drive it once a week.
After driving the beast its like driving a supped up sports car once i get back behind the wheel of my motor. But saying that i dont need to take the bus home one night a week, my wife uses the car during the week or any day with a Y in it must not grumble . And it also save's getting the bus to work one day a week so i count my blessings and not speeding tickets . And i get to drive a merc at last hehe.

Iam in the process of selling a second house i own.It has been rented out for a number of years and seeing that house prices have shot through the roof i have decided its time to sell.Hopefully in the coming weeks it will snapped up and and monies deposited into my bank account.

The cash i will get will be the equal to approx 5 years wages (net) so by no means can i pack in work as much as i hate the job its going to go nowhere and iam currently on 32k a year . But at least the money from the sale is going to buy a few luxurys and fight of a few rainy days .

The first thing on the agenda is a new tattoo its been in the planing for the last six months so its time for blood and pain again all for the sake of some more internal ink. I have two leg pieces and most of my back covered by various designs tha main theme being dragon's sun and crosses.

i want a new mp3 player and i am considering a new i-pod i have never owned one before and the new 80 gig is appealing , but dont like the fact you have to use i-tunes, you cant copy and paste straight into the player nor cant you drop in rechargable batteries , i do a lot of walking and travelling and its convenient to replace batteries rather than have to charge the whole unit especially in the middle of nowhere,i know you can get a battery add on pack so i could achieve this but why add to the expense i-pods dont come cheap ,why cant apple give users a choice of batteries or a rechargable unit or the option of both or is it ploy get more cash out of the consumer to buy add on's.will have to search out other manufactures and see what appeals.

now doubt wifey will have a list off everything she wants and what she wants doing with the house renovating it from top to bottom
she can have what she wants i got my pc music and tunes dont think there is anything else i need well there is , but it will be way too much money hehe
