Was up at half seven took Pip for a walk to the cemetery it was sunny and not too cold by the time it was ten o clock we was in the car heading for Manchester city center about a fifty minute drive away from Leeds , we parked underneath some bridge arches for only £3.50 for the day we parked up and walked in to the city a few minutes away.

its as big as Leeds city centre if not bigger obviously they have a lot of the same shops as they do in our city center and the same cafes. One thing they have that Leeds does not have is trams we didn't go on one but they seem a good way of avoiding traffic jams.

.

We went to the tourist information centre to see where the Eye was and its no longer in the city was a bit pissed of they had got rid of it as far as i know they had one in York not sure if that's still there , it might end up being erected in Leeds if they are doing a tour with it , i have no idea what the photo below is but i found it quite intriguing.

I have found out what it is its called the Tip street horn by David kemp www.davidkemp.uk.com/blog and cost £25000 to make .

Tib Street Horn is sited on the top of the ruins of a Victorian hat factory at the intersection of Tib Street and Church Street, just off Piccadilly in Centre Manchester. It is an urban landmark sculpture announcing the gateway to Manchester's Northern Quarter, which is currently enjoying cultural regeneration as the Creative Quarter, with many music shops, venues, cafes, studios and galleries. The horn represents a large musical instrument.

We ended up in the Chinese quarter i wanted to eat a Chinese buffet Helen though it might be a bit dodgy and we would end up with food poisoning smelling all the different food cooking plus it was now one o clock and we had not had breakfast was torture , Chinese torture .

Walking through the city center we saw Krisshan Jade Busking i have seen her on my friends face book he liked her page she as a good voice and makes a good living i guess , we have a singer who does Leeds he sells cd's and can knock fifty to sixty a day at a £5.00 each he is called The Bedroom orchestra and as a record deal check them out on You Tube.

We picked the car back up and decided to go to the Quay and see if it compared to our one at Leeds.

On the way we detoured and headed for Trafford shopping centre to get something to eat Helen got fish and chips i got a KFC with gravy and a large coke , We bought Helen's engagement ring from there she took it in for cleaning and polishing we have to go back in a couple of weeks , they are re plating it for her because it white gold they are doing it free of charge.

We called in to a few more shops Helen bought me a leather bracelet from Fossil and we bought a couple of ice cold cherry coke and lemon Fanta for the drive back home all in all we will be going back to Manchester its different to Leeds and Helen says she prefers it to our city , at the end of the day we have both lived in Leeds for ninety years between us and a change is good as a rest.

Above my Freelander it takes us everywhere the price of diesel is going up again it dropped for a few weeks and they reckon its going to go up 10p a litre .
