LOST ONE

Helen's parents have a buyer for their house and have found a static home that they want to buy it is costing them three time the amount that we paid and the ground rent is double a month what we pay .
They are selling off most of the furniture an extending table and chairs , a corner drinks cabinet a long side board the wicker conservatory furniture a leather chair and getting rid of other things in general power tools hand tools ladders and a trailer .
They are going to be left with very little when they move , the trouble is if it all falls through then they have a empty house to live in hopefully they have not jumped the gun and been too eager .

Cleaned the fish tanks external filter , and cleaned the rocks we also vacuumed  the gravel and did a 25% water change using a pump on a cordless drill , it took a good hour to get all sorted the pump did not look too dirty we washed out the pads and other filters in the four trays and the sponges in the main housing I also scrubbed the rocks , we replaced the water after placing the rocks back in to the tank .

Wiped  and re-seated the light and switched the power back on no leaks , the seal on the inlet and out let pipes were seated correctly and the pump filter running fine Woke up in the morning just after 08.00 to feed the fish and one was laying dead on the bottom of the tank this is the first fatality no idea why it looked unmarked and the rest of the shoal of  fish all seem  fine .We tested the nitrate and nitrite levels which where high the ph and ammonia levels are fine , we will cut back on feeding we think we have been over feeding them and will do another 30% water change every two days .
